FUTURE METALLURGY FORUM 23

  • 8 sessions

  • 18 Speakers

  • 100 Attendees

  • John Hunt Memorial lecture

  • 40 posters

  • Round table discussions

The Future Metallurgy Forum provided a platform for internationally eminent metallurgists/leaders to contribute to the search for a shared vision for the future of metallurgical science, metallurgical engineering and the metallurgical industry in the wider context of global sustainability.

With over 100 national and international attendees to the meeting, which was held at the beautiful and historic Beaumont Estate in Old Windsor, leaders in the field of metallurgy met to discuss the future of Metallurgy in the context of global sustainability.  The full 2-day meeting took place on 27-28th March 2023 and was designed to promote collaboration and discussion amongst those leading the field. It consisted of 18 talks (from future alloy development to additive manufacturing, fundamental research,  sustainability, education and shaping the future of the metallurgical industry) along with a dedicated poster session, highlighting the work carried out during the LiME hub.   There was plenty of discussion time, including a special roundtable session dedicated to debating the key questions on the future of metallurgy.

The evening saw us celebrating the 21st Anniversary of BCAST, where Early Career Researchers had the opportunity to network and celebrate with the eminent leaders in the field of Metallurgy in the beautiful surroundings of the Chapel at Beaumont.
